Presented By:
Mountain Valley Winery, Apple Barn Winery & Hillside Winery

Date: Saturday, October 2, 2012 | 9AM to 3:30PM

If you are going to be spending the weekend in the Sevier County area and you enjoy indulging in wine tastings on your vacation, then you are in for a treat! The Mountain Valley Winery, Apple Barn Winery, and Hillside Winery have gotten together in support of a good cause and are presenting a special event this Saturday that you have got to attend. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and in order to raise awareness and money for continued research by the American Cancer Society to find a cure, these local wineries are urging you to walk the Rocky Top Wine Trail this weekend.

Beginning at 8am, registration and check in will be held at Hillside Winery. At 9:30, attendees begin walking to the Apple Barn Winery where you can go bobbing for apples, enjoy refreshments including apple doughnuts and chilled apple cider, have a tasting of “Pink” wine, and get the first stamp in your Rocky Top Wine Trail passport. At 11am, everyone will stomp on over to the Mountain Valley Winery for some grape stomping and enjoy refreshments of muffins and specialty made “pink” appetizers as you are entertained by the music of the Party Boys. Another tasting of “Pink” wine, another passport stamp, and you're off to the event finale as you begin your return to the Hillside Winery at 12:30.

After you work up your appetite as you walk over to the last winery on the trail, BBQ lunch will be provided by Corky’s Restaurant. And that's not all! A country music band will perform, there will be tons of door prizes, more tasting of “Pink” wine, you can get another stamp in your passport and even receive a complimentary gift. Of course, no wine tasting event is complete with out a guided tour from a local winemaker of the production area to see the area’s largest and finest wine making equipment. So be sure to register to attend this great event! The cost is only $20 if you preregister and includes a pink logoed cinch backpack, a bottle of water, a Rocky Top Wine Trail passport, and entrance to events and food at each winery along the walk. If you prefer to just have lunch and enjoy the band, then you can purchase a ticket for only $15. However, if you wait to register on the day of the event, the cost of either ticket will go up an additional $5.
