The Gatlinburg Convention Center will be full of fun and feasting from 5pm - 8pm. There you will find lots of music and munching going on, all in support of a good cause.

Guests can savor endless samples of fine dining from several of the area's most distinguished restaurants as Millie Palmer Jazz entertains the crowd with musical performances throughout the evening.

WonderWorks has launched its newest addition! Wonders of Flight offers the newest way to experience the views that the Smoky Mountain area is so well known for. Be among the first to take flight just in time to capture lovely fall foliage that has began changing colors recently this season. Guests ascend up to 400 feet in the giant green and blue helium filled balloon that is safely tethered to the landing platform which is located just behind the WonderWorks Museum. This brand new attraction in Pigeon Forge celebrated its grand opening on Friday, September 21st, and it will open daily at 10am year round with daytime and evening operating hours, as long as weather permits.

The giant 72 foot diameter balloon carries up to 30 guests at a time in its open air gondola providing 360-degree panoramic views of the breathtaking Great Smoky Mountains below. The balloon is permanently filled with helium, which won't catch fire or explode so it is safe and environmentally friendly. It is tethered by a cable that is controlled by a hydro-electric winch in order to avoid any vibrations so the whole process is kept as quiet and serene as possible. Each encounter lasts an average of 10 minutes, and visitors are allowed to take pictures throughout the ride.

Rates for the Wonders of Flight are $15.99 for adults,  $9.99 for kids under 12, and children 36-inches and under are admitted for free as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Cades Cove Stargazing Program

Everyone knows how spectacular the views are in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, but you may not have realized that Cades Cove also provides a sensational viewing spot to gaze out at the stars as well. The natural bowl that is formed by the surrounding mountains makes it perfect for observing the stars because it blocks out undesired artificial light pollution, making even the faintest objects easier to view.

Telescopes will be provided as part of the Cades Cove Stargazing Program this weekend for those who wish to look out into the night skies and learn about the stars of our galaxy from experienced astronomers. This special event is free, and all you'll need is warm clothing, a flashlight, and a blanket to sit on. Some participants prefer to bring a flashlight with a red light or lens cover so as night disturb other observers, but it is not mandatory. You are encouraged to carpool to the parking area at the orientation shelter near the beginning of Cades Cove Loop Road, and from there you will be lead by a ranger for an easy ¼ mile walk through a field to the program site.

If the night sky is not clear enough for decent viewing due to weather, the event will be postponed. Call 865 448-4104 ahead of time if you are unsure if the program will be affected by weather conditions.
